ScreenCheck acquired by American Banknote Group
SA-based card production systems manufacturer, ScreenCheck Australia has been acquired by American holding company, ABnote Group.
ScreenCheck, with headquarters in Adelaide, provides card production systems for clients in the government, corporate and private sectors, as well as bureau services for clients wishing to outsource their card production.
ABnote Group operates Melbourne-based Leigh Mardon which offers cheque, card and smart card
services in Australia and New Zealand and is a
major provider of secure transaction services including print production, personalisation, secure warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment.
With facilities in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, ScreenCheck Australia complements Leigh Mardon’s card manufacturing capability in Melbourne, Sydney, Christchurch and Auckland.
ScreenCheck’s founding directors, Scott Elvish, Greg Mudie and Bevis Smyth will continue as senior managers of the business, which will operate as a separate and focused entity within the ABnote Card and ID services business under the leadership of Nicholas Ficinus. Scott Elvish will assume the role of GM and ScreenCheck will continue to operate from all current locations.
Hentley Farm winery exports Beast to Russia
Family owned and operated boutique Barossa Valley winery, Hentley Farm has signed an export agreement with Moscow-based wine distributor, Fort, to export its premium The Beauty and The Beast shiraz wines to Russia.
“Russia is fast becoming a major customer for premium Australian wine, so we’re delighted to get a foothold in such a flourishing market,” says Hentley Farm’s Keith Hentschke.
“We’re sending shipments of The Beauty Shiraz 2006 and The Beast Shiraz 2006 which retail in Australia for $50 and $80 per bottle respectively, so we’ll be entering Russia at the high price end of the market.
