SA Great moving forward
As we pass the halfway point of 2008, South Australia finds itself in a period of economic prosperity and SA Great is shifting directions as opportunities open up for the state.
The most significant of these new developments is the opportunity for SA Great to focus more attention outside the state in a bid to increase business investment and attract talent to SA.
The organisation will continue to work closely with the State Government and business stakeholders to create a great impression of Adelaide and SA.
SA Great CEO, Judy Potter, says there has never been a better time in the state’s history to tap into interstate and overseas markets.
“It is an extremely exciting time at SA Great as crossing state borders has never been attempted at this organisation before, but as a state we need to be prepared in order for this to be successful,” Judy says.
“SA Great is currently undertaking a scoping project, which involves consulting with key industry leaders to gain a solid appreciation of the issues and opportunities facing South Australian businesses and to identify the key target markets.
“SA Great will use this research to develop an integrated program of activities that may include various high-level dinners, industry activities and media campaigns in Australia and overseas.”
Judy says for this shift to occur, South Australians need to feel confident and positive about the state in which they live.
“Confidence in SA’s business capabilities and the opportunities that exist here is vital before we spread the message elsewhere,” she says.
SA Great builds state confidence within the state through various awards programs.
The South Australian of the Year Awards recognise inspirational locals who have made a significant contribution to the state while the SA Great Regional Awards celebrates the successes that occur in our regions across the state.
