ThoSona aims for deeper meaning
by Pamela Brombal
Thora Klein-Gibaud, owner and founder of ThoSona, says her new wellness and lifestyle sanctuaries venture was inevitable, given her upbringing.
As the daughter of Jurlique organic cosmetic pioneers, Jurgen and Ulrike Klein, it is little wonder Thora’s venture expands on her understanding and knowledge of a holistic lifestyle.
“The concept of ThoSona has really been part of the evolution of my life - growing up in an environment surrounded by nature and natural things, growing our own vegetables, living simply and healthy and my family’s contribution to creating one of the world’s leading natural skin care brands,” says Thora.
ThoSona wellness and lifestyle sanctuary opened in October 2007 in Adelaide and Perth, occupying leased premises at Next Generation sports clubs.
The relationship is contracted for eight years and Thora feels the partnership “fits like a glove”.
“Globally we see a consumer trend that true fitness cannot exist without wellness,” Thora says.
“Next Generation and ThoSona is able to come together to offer the best of wellness: that is, looking well, feeling well, performing well, and most importantly, staying well.”
ThoSona is breaking new ground in the day spa sector, offering more than just beauty treatments. The sanctuary uses all-organic products and offers a lifestyle approach. This model is proving popular, with business doubling every three months since launch.
