ACH adapts to new aged care demand
As one of SA’s largest aged care services providers, care provider ACH Group feels a responsibility to promote positive ageing and helping older South Australians to live good lives. ACH provides care for more than 35,000 older people each year but only 870 of them live in nursing homes. Most ACH services are delivered in-home to enable older people to continue living independently. ACH Group’s CEO, Dr Mike Rungie, says there has been a major shift in recent years to providing more services for people in the comfort of their own homes.
“We’re seeing a massive shift in the traditional nursing home view of aged care to one that is more responsive to older people’s needs,” Mike says.
“It’s no longer a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Aged care providers must now deliver a smorgasbord of options that enable people to pick and choose what services they want, when they want them and where they want them to be delivered.”
ACH Group is responsible for annual revenue of more than $50 million and is currently overseeing more than $60 million in aged care construction projects.
