Reclaim Water is an example of the world-beating water technology South Australia can offer the world. Reclaim boasts IP which can remove a range of water pollutants in a system that can be scaled to serve a home or a city. Technical Director, Mark Lobban represents a team including Queensland-based CEO Ray Conder and major investor and MD, Greg Gunther CPA, a former Genesis Wealth Creation franchisee, financial advisor and now business coach to elite sports persons. Mark has a science and business background with long experience of commercialising water industry IP.
“I have been involved in lots of pilot plants. It’s exciting, but challenging” Mark says.
The Reclaim system is at the commercialisation market entry stage with R&D still underway, with prototyping specialist Brook Engineering of Holden Hill fabricating systems. Mark’s effort, which began in 1996, is only now becoming easier to sell, with the rising cost of water.
“I thought water recycling purification technologies would be going gangbusters by 2000 but it wasn’t. It has taken a combination of extended drought and water restrictions for people to value this potential,” he says.
Reclaim Water offers both product and service, a household ‘plant’ to industrial capacity of 2.5 megalitres per day. Plans are afoot for a 10ML/day plant.
