Global take on energy
Junior oil and gas explorer Rodinia Oil, although based in Calgary, is focused on onshore exploration in Australia. Rodinia has exclusive access to over 23 million acres of under-explored lands in the Officer (SA) and Georgina (NT) basins in Australia, which may have
significant hydrocarbon potential based upon recently acquired seismic data, known geologic history and similarity to analogous basins in Oman and Siberia.
“Rodinia is the successor company to Officer Basin Energy Inc. which acquired PELA 81 from Odin Capital in 2006. Odin had previously acquired PELA 81 from Hoskins and Allender, two local SA geophysicists who applied for and were granted PELA in early 1997,” Rodinia President, Paul Bennett says.
Having finished interpreting its Phase One seismic program data, Rodinia has engaged Ryder Scott Company to conduct an Estimate of Hydrocarbon Resource Potential of the Company’s lands in the Officer Basin in South Australia.
“Rodinia operates in Australia through its wholly owned subsiduary, Officer Basin Energy. Ryder Scott is a global resources engineering company based in Houston, Texas,” Paul says.
“Ryder Scott is currently doing a resource assessment for Rodinia on part of PEL 81 and all of PEL 253. OBE has a partner in the Officer Basin play, EnSearch Petroleum, a private Indian company with production and plays around the globe. OBE retains a 75% working interest in
all of the Officer Basin lands.
