The Sarah Group is a South Australian based diversified construction business established in 1961. After many years growing in size it’s time to move house.
“We acquired an 1800m2 site on Glen Osmond Rd Eastwood where we will build a two-storey commercial office building to accommodate Sarah Constructions, due for completion in late 2009,” says Tim Sarah.
“This will be our first move from Hindmarsh, our home for 48 years, and will be up and running for our 50th anniversary in 2011.”
There are several group enterprises. Sarah Constructions is a commercial industrial construction manager & contractor incorporating Sarah Building Services its non-structural fitout/refurbishment division Longridge Sarah Housing Group a joint venture
builder of residential brands Sarah Homes, Longridge Homes and Atlas Transportables.
Hindmarsh Plumbing incorporates a Construction Division, SA’s largest commercial/industrial specialist contractor, and a Service Division a major commercial
service and maintenance provider.
Architectural Hardware & Doors is SA’s largest specialist commercial door and door furniture supply and installation contractor and locksmith.
The group is set to turn over more than $150m in 2008/9 and employs over 300 people. Third generation cousins James and Tim Sarah are Joint MDs of Sarah Group, and have shared the position for 17 years and the past one has been memorable.
“Group turnover exceeded $136m reflecting 12% growth on (last) year and is set to grow by 15% this coming year,” Tim says.
Sarah Constructions recently completed the $20m Townsend Park retirement complex at Hove and was awarded the $18.5m Adelaide Crows Centre of Excellence redevelopment at AAMI Stadium as well as the $35m Walkerville retail-residential development for Holcon Australia.
