Micromet weather watch heart of smart system

Micromet combines horticultural and irrigation management expertise with the latest in technology and is a leading provider of irrigation management for municipalities, schools and other public spaces. Micromet’s service has been particularly designed for clients looking for an inexpensive, weather-driven, centralised management service, covering many sites over a wide area. Micromet works with existing on-site control equipment to provide state-of-the-art water management expertise.
The Micromet service goes well beyond centralised irrigation management. Skilled
staff conduct irrigation system management audits and provide general technical and horticultural expertise.
“Because the weather is changeable we monitor those changes and adapt irrigations to suit. We install a Micromet Device at a client’s site and attach it to the existing irrigation controller so we can enable or inhibit the controller from working,” MD Terry Crawn says.
“We do a comprehensive audit of the site’s details and create a computer model of available water for use by the rootzone at that site. We monitor evapo-transpiration and rainfall from our weatherstations and bureau of meteorology data feeds to support our computer model.
