Hames Sharley is a long-established name in architecture, interior design, urban design and planning, and landscape architecture which has exploited SA’s building boom exceptionally well.
Established in Adelaide in 1973, Hames Sharley now operates offices in Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth and from offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian through its corporate partnership with the company Wesberg.
“We have an emphasis on strategic services, sustainable design and creating design value in every project,” says director, David Cooke.
“We are known for our practical evidence-based design approach, this approach is sought for more complex design project in the health, defence and retail sectors.
“Our portfolio of work is diverse and innovative. We have a culture of provoking and sharing new ideas and
dedicate ourselves to exceeding client expectations.
“All projects are designed to world-class standards and are constantly recognized by our industry peers through the awards we have received."
The firm’s rapid growth in recent years created its own barrier.
“Last year, the major barrier to our growth was the constrictive size of our Hackney offices,” David says.
“The rapid growth of the business forced the firm to move into larger city premises in Grenfell Street.
“We more than tripled in size during the year which meant people were crammed together in rooms, sharing desks and encouraged at times to work at home. “This barrier has been overcome from the relocation to the city. We now have ideal premises.
"The team is now located on the one level, with space for meeting rooms, a large boardroom and breakout areas.”
David says the support of Hames Sharley’s national practice means systems are in place to support smooth growth with appropriate controls to maintain high quality and approach.
