Young PS professionals want OxyNet
The SA Government employs about 13,000 young professionals who since 2006 have been encouraged to network through Oxygen, a user-driven, web-based networking forum.
The community numbers about 2000 young professionals. Oxygen averages 1150 log-ins and 17,200 page hits per month and has had positive feedback from users and public sector leaders. Any SA public servant 35 years of age or less can access it.
Created and hosted by Kojo Interactive, Oxygen lets users provide new and topical content through blogging and posts. Users are identified by name and take responsibility for comments they post on discussion boards. This maintains professionalism and allows users to connect when networking face-to-face.
