The Ulan plant, commissioned in January, is the second Osmoflo has engineered for the site. The existing plant cleans mine discharge water and a pre-treatment microfiltration plant is being added. This plant is critical to viable underground coal mining enabling extraction a large volume of water.
The plant cuts Xstrata operating costs and puts treated water back into the local creek system, with some used for onsite irrigation.
