Strategic plug-in to Panda power
Following a period of rebuilding, the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is looking to grow its community and membership base and connect people within the Asia–Pacific region.
Since its foundation in 1996 the AACCI vision has been, “To be a peak representative body of Asian business by working together to create strategic alliance and by establishing a deeper trust and friendship across the different cultural regions”.
“We’re looking for creative, dynamic and interesting
folk who can collaborate, contribute and cooperate," says Secretary, Conan Fahey.
“The AACCI can provide business matching, business intelligence, business development services, trade missions, digital media content and event management and most importantly can act as an entry point or conduit for South Australians looking for long-term business opportunities in Asia.
“The AACCI has a growing, dynamic online community; one that is inclusive, proactive and can 'build cultural bridges’ create opportunity, make friendships and cultivate collective ‘guanxi’ throughout Australia and Asia.”
To gain traction and profile the AACCI has been staging fun, funky and different styles of networking events such as its 1930s Shanghai Soiree Night to celebrate Chinese New year, Irena’s Garden Party and St Patrick’s Days Celebrations. Entertainment-focused trade missions and networking events have themes such as Short Film, Latino-Greek Dancing Nights, Karaoke Fusion Cooking Classes and Blues, Bourbon and Brainstorming.
“This year the AACCI will support Arts/Entertainment/ Digital Media trade missions and strongly focus its commitment to Adelaide Zoo’s ‘Pandas on Parade’ Project,” Conan says. AACCI is one of 10 official Panda
Keepers for the ZoosSA Pandas on Parade project, which is raising funds for habitat development.
