Air forum aim to draw more carriers
Adelaide Airport Ltd has been selected to host the 8th Routes Asia aviation networking forum in 2010, in partnership with the South Australian Government.
The event, which will run from April 18 to 20, is expected to attract key decision makers from many of the Asian region’s major airlines.
AAL Managing Director, Phil Baker says Adelaide is the first city in Australia to attract the major aviation networking forum.
“Routes Asia is one of the most important events on the aviation industry calendar,” Phil says, noting AAL instigated efforts to attract the event to Adelaide because it is an excellent chance to show airlines the airport’s state-of-the-art terminal facilities as well as SA’s tourism and export potential.
Phil says while attracting new passenger airlines and routes would be a key target for AAL during the event, there would also be opportunities to increase freight capacity between Adelaide and Asian destinations.
