Outstanding talent is something SA Great is always striving to uncover and share with South Australia. Each year SA Great honours individuals and groups through various Awards programs, most notably the South Australian of the Year Awards and the SA Great Regional Awards.
10th Annual SA Great regional Awards The SA Great Regional Awards are well underway with 2009 marking the 10th anniversary. Over this 10-year period SA Great has uncovered some amazing success stories from every corner of SA.
“SA Great has awarded so many special individuals, groups and businesses over the past 10 years,” says SA Great CEO, Nikki Seymour-Smith.
“It is quite overwhelming to see and experience
the passion and dedication our regions produce. Year after year the Award entries become more innovative and inspirational.”
2009 is shaping up to be no different. With another massive number of nominations from around SA, a panel will spend the next few months accomplishing the difficult task of picking the standout performers.
For example, one nomination is the Ardrossan Angels Community Group, which has been nominated for raising money for the SA Cancer Council and aiding local cancer sufferers for seven years.
The Angels recently completed a ‘relay for life’ at Santos Stadium, where they walked non-stop around the track for 19 hours after having raised more than $16,000 for The Cancer Council.
“This is a prime example of a community group that is making a genuine difference in the region and it is stories such as this that we (SA Great) love to hear and share”, says Nikki.
Winning an SA Great Regional Award is something that is held very close to many people’s hearts around SA and is something the whole community can celebrate.
