The Water Industry Alliance is facing a funding shortfall with key funding due to cease from June 2011.

There has been some great progress in addressing this financial challenge but we will need to adjust our business model.

At the recent Water Industry Alliance Awards luncheon, Brian Cunningham, Chief Executive of the Department of Trade and Development, described the Alliance as a “home grown, industry success story we are committed to supporting” and that “South Australia’s water industry has the potential to be a driver of major economic prosperity and the future looks bright.”

I’m delighted that the government has followed through with that commitment of support and we are negotiating with DTED the details of approximately $300,000 worth of industry and trade development services that will be delivered by the Alliance and purchased by DTED.
