Grant funds redemption
Adelaide-based firm Export Solutions has played a leading role in ending a chronic funding shortfall impairing the Federal Government’s Export Market Development Grant program.
Export Solutions principal Stuart Mitchell says the capital matching program had fallen so far behind its payment commitments some Export Solutions clients were facing “ruin and staff cuts as well as pulling back from exporting or put of the market altogether”.
Stuart says the Rudd Government inherited a problem which had short-changed 1800 exporters - almost 40% in the program - who had committed their own capital. “The economic stimulus of the full funding for 2009 applications paid in 2009 cannot be understated; it is simply a good news story for SME exporters,” he says.
“Our business is built around helping exporters. We act for many SA companies and others interstate. We help more exporters in this stage than any other firm.
