TONKIN CONSULTING MOVES
Tonkin Consulting’s head office moved to new premises earlier this month, marking a major growth milestone in the history of the company.
When Tonkin Consulting moved to its current premises in 2000, with just 60 staff there was enough room to sub-let some floor space. Now with nearly double the number of staff, Tonkin needed to secure more accommodation to allow for continued growth. The new premises, located at 66 Rundle Street Kent Town, features a ‘Green Initiative’ with a 5-star environmental design and will have a 5-star Australian Building Greenhouse rating for energy efficiency.
PHILMAC APPOINTS USA DISTRIBUTOR
Philmac is expanding in the North American market after signing a key distribution agreement with major pipe fittings distributor, Harco. Harco will distribute 3G Compression Fittings for PE pipelines for the North Plympton-based maker and distributor of water management products.
“Our new partnership with Harco plugs us into the irrigation market in the US – a market which widely uses PE pipe,” says Philmac MD, Chris Stathy.
“The USA represents a significant growth opportunity for Philmac with huge potential for our world-renowned compression fittings in a number of different markets.”
Like Philmac, Harco has achieved several industry firsts, including becoming the first USA manufacturer to produce various injectionmoulded PVC fittings and the compact ductile iron MJ fitting.
“Strategically, Harco is an excellent fit for the Philmac business having extensive experience in similar markets and showing a commitment to excellence and innovation within the water industry,” Chris says.
“What’s more, Harco’s home-grown industry insight into the US market is extremely valuable, providing Philmac with vital opportunities to grow its market share.”
