Ahrens customizes major projects
Engaged as it has been in large-scale interstate projects, Ahrens has been fortunate to deliver a solid financial performance despite the Global Financial Crisis, according to MD, Stefan Ahrens.
But achieve it has, and Ahrens is looking to pioneer a new building method on Australian major projects.
“This achievement has been underpinned by the opening of a new office in Perth, as well as the positioning of Ahrens as the leading Design & Construction industrial builder in SA and the NT,”
Stefan says.
“Our D&C Queensland office has recently been awarded its second major project for Graincorp Operations, to refurbish an outdated grain terminal and bring it back into service.
“Our Materials Handling division has helped contribute to the steady growth of our D&C SA office, with major projects in the fertiliser industry, as well as exporting a Drive Over Hopper Stacker to Oman.
“We have also been busy developing a range of flat-pack site-erected silos that will be released in the next few months.”
Ahrens has been in the midst of expanding structural component manufacturing capability in its home office.
“Another highlight (of the past year) has been the completion of our new state-of-the-art head office and Custom Engineered Building facility, near Gawler, which includes the most modern automated paint-line for steel beams in the world,” Stefan says.
