Adam’s Murray Voyage
Adam Boon, participant in the 2007-08 Young Business Leaders Program, and Private Client Adviser at Macquarie Private Wealth, raised more than $8000 for The Royal Society of the Blind with his kayaking cause.
As part of Adam’s Community Involvement Program, Adam developed ‘Kayaking for a Cause’ involving four participants on a 75km kayaking challenge from Morgan to Swan Reach on the Murray River.
“I invited colleagues from Macquarie Private Wealth to join me as fellow kayakers on the challenge and teamed up with fellow YBL participant Avril Holmes,” says Adam.
“Sponsorship and donations were made in support of the kayakers powering through the distance.”
The challenge required meticulous organisation, taking place over several months, to make sure
that the kayakers were up to the physical rigours of the challenge.
Planning included:
Determining kayaking distance, location and timing
Organising kayaking training and train...
