Hern’s three steps beat ‘dentist’ tag
“I’ve heard people say making an appointment to see their accountant is much like going to the dentist - it’s something you do because you have to, otherwise you leave room for problems to arise. We are aiming to change that view,” says Brian Hern, founder and partner at Hern Financial Services.
Brian established the firm in 1994, supported by his wife Bronwyn as Practice Manager. Brian began his accounting career in 1977, has seen the industry go through many changes, and has strived to innovate.
Bringing young accountant and financial planner, Matthew Carberry, into the business in 1996 was another step in the right direction. Matt became a senior partner of the firm in 2007. Now delivered by a team of eight, Hern’s services have expanded from basic accounting and financial planning to loans & leasing, wealth protection, insurance, tax planning and estate planning.
