Meridien buy brings McCracken to city
McCracken Developments, an affiliate of the South Australian hospitality investor group, Country Club Hotels & Resorts, is selling its long-established McCracken Country Club near Victor Harbour after purchasing the Adelaide Meridien.
McCracken purchased leasehold interest in the North Adelaide property in March. CCH&R Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Bullock says the Meridien acquisition is a good opportunity for the investor group to expand its brand in metropolitan Adelaide.
McCracken Developments will spend about $1.5 million to upgrade the 95-room Melbourne Street landmark over coming months. It will be marketed as Adelaide Meridien Hotel & Apartments under the CCH&R banner. The lobby area and restaurant will be updated to create a café-style dining venue for guests and the general public.
