Youth brings vitality to Kelly & Co
When Stuart Price took up his position as CEO of Adelaide commercial law firm Kelly & Co in July last year, the GFC was in full cry. Now, after only eight months in the job, Stuart has the firm in one of the strongest positions in its 93-year history.
While 2009 was a tough year for most professional services firms in South Australia, Kelly & Co grew strongly.
“Rather than adopting a short-term response to the financial pressures of the GFC the firm took a longer-term strategic approach and it is now paying off,” Stuart says.
“Firms that drastically cut staff numbers over the past year are now scrambling to re-build their teams. We are being approached frequently by some very talented lawyers locally and interstate to join our team. They want to be a part of a successful firm that values its employees and their loyalty.”
Kelly & Co aims to continue its growth by investing in its people and grow capacity to service clients.
“For us this comes down to providing a high quality service, accessibility to our full resources, value for money, responsiveness and above all, maintaining strong personal relationships with our clients,” Stuart says.
In the past six months Kelly & Co has recruited 10 new staff to its team.
