Ahrens’ rural SA payback
Major SA construction and engineering company, Ahrens achieved key certification milestones in June, after integrating management systems for Quality, Environment and Safety in a bid to meet SAI Global’s strict certification requirements in three key areas at once.
After more than 12 months of improving and developing its business systems and procedures, Ahrens was certified for ISO 9001 Quality, IS0 14001 Environment and AS 4801 Safety.
MD Stefan Ahrens says meeting and maintaining certification will help Ahrens achieve best practice in all its management systems.
“Achieving certification in the three key areas of quality, environment and safety will be critical to our success in the future,” Stefan says. “Certification is yet another process of continuous improvement that we have committed to and there is no doubt it will lead to further opportunities for our business.”
And apart from t-crossing of management detail Ahrens is moving ahead in another direction, to ‘give back’ after more than 100 years of support from rural South Australia.
Ahrens is donating 120 field bins to country football clubs in SA and Victoria, where its Sherwell operation is based.
According to SA Community Football Board chairman, David Shipway, the Ahrens donation is the most valuable offer ever made to SA’s country football clubs.
