Anna makes waves for innovations
Growing up, Anna Aubrey was often told she could talk under water.
Now the corporate communications professional is making waves for the South Australian water industry. As Communications and Membership Manager with the Water Industry Alliance she is driving the interests of the State’s leading businesses and organisations within the water sector.
It is a role that utilises the skills she has honed in past communications roles within industries spanning notfor- profit, agriculture and health.
“We all know how to communicate, but effective communication is another matter altogether,” Anna says.
“Having worked in corporate communications roles over the past 10 years I’ve learnt that the same rules apply regardless of which industry you’re working in.
“Professionalism, drive, energy and personality are critical in effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels. For me, that may be scientists and engineers through to business owners and government representatives from Australia and overseas.”
Anna emigrated from New Zealand to Australia in 2001 after completing a Bachelor in Social Sciences at Auckland University of Technology (Communications Major) in 2000.
