Profile promotes sharp focus on supply chain
Marketing supply firm Profile Promotional Partners has seen a great deal of change since opening its doors in July 1999, and is now riding the breaks of a gadgetdriven ‘techno boom’, according to principal, Darren Greatrex.
PPP specializes in corporate gifts, apparel - business shirts, polo shirts, jackets, etc for men and women - mass giveaways usually used at events like the Fringe, Crows football games, etc, and direct importing of both apparel and premiums from Chinese factories.
“We also provide a full decoration service of embroidery, screen printing, laser engraving and pad printing,” Darren says.
“The promotional industry is riding on the ‘techno’ boom so items now such as USBs are in very high demand. We are also finding that the face-to-face contact is diminishing and the use of the web to either purchase items or at least flesh out ideas is growing rapidly.
“As manufacturing for clothing has almost completely stopped in Australia there is also an increased demand for imported apparel from China and what would normally take four to five weeks to supply now takes less than seven days.
“There is a need to hold large levels of stock now as the minimum order quantities from China are increasing and so is the price of cotton (almost 60% increase in the past 6 months) however with the favorable US$ it is also a good time to be importing.
