Catherine brings us American dream
South Australian expatriate, Catherine Mattiske, has led a 30-year career as a training professional, author and publisher, her work spanning industries including banking, insurance, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and retail.
Her firm, The Performance Company, has offices in Sydney, Los Angeles and in New York and London. TPC delivers training solutions to a client list including high profile Fortune 100 and 500 companies including Wal–Mart and Chanel.
Catherine is a member of the US Congressional Business Advisory Council and has been awarded for her influence to US business, but aside from high level recognition remains relatively unknown in her hometown - Adelaide.
Catherine was in Adelaide in April for AmCham, where she described her experience of growing TPC on the international stage.
Catherine ‘left home’ 25 years ago to seek advancement in employer’s Sydney head office. She specialized in computer competency training and over more than a decade became expert at IT training delivery.
“I didn’t want another real job,” she says, “so I started my own business with nothing but a $130 answering machine.”
