RME Bolsters Local Exports
Despite Australian businesses feeling the events of September 11, they appear to have toughed out the worst of the fallout.
In the year 2000-01, Australian exports rose 21 per cent to $152 billion and it seems this figure could continue to rise if local business strength is anything to go by.
In the past two years, Salisbury business Rotating Machine Engines Group (RME) has generated more than 50 per cent of its business due to exports.
The company, which recently received a seven figure Federal Government grant for R&D, provides a monitoring and remediation service for businesses that rely on AC and DC electric motors.
RME Managing Director Richard Grabkowski said the company’s service was similar to a doctor’s surgery.
“We monitor the machines, find the faults and provide the diagnosis,” he said.
