Sgherza’s Crown jewel
The luxurious new Crown Marina spans 55,000sqm of water and land in the northern basin of the North Haven Marina Basin, 40 minutes northwest of the Adelaide CBD.
“Stage 1 of Crown Marina is now complete and has berthing for 76 vessels ranging from 12m-20m and accommodating boats up to 70ft. Stage 2 will start late in 2011, with a further 27 berths being built ranging in size from 25m-34m, accommodating boats up to 120ft,” says developer, Sam Sgherza. “The Crown Marina development is valued at $30 million and we believe the offering at Crown Marina accommodates all boating enthusiasts.
“Crown Marina is unique to Adelaide as it is not a club based marina, nor is it an offshoot of a development, such as Holdfast Shores or New Port Quays. We have created a recreational marina with the sole purpose of providing the best facilities and services for boat owners.”
Sam says the facility offers “everything a boat owner could possibly need”.
“If a boat owner wants to take their boat out on Saturday, all they need to do is let us know and we can take care of the rest. We can arrange everything including food and beverages for the boat, cleaning the boat and a safety and system check,” he says.
“When the client arrives we can assist them to transport their goods and guests to the boat by golf buggy and help them set off on their day on the water. When they return we can be there waiting to help them tie up, before cleaning and packing up their boat ready for the next time they wish to use it.”
When completed, Crown Marina aims to be the home to the biggest boats in Adelaide and Sam is determined to provide all clients with “the pinnacle of service” to attract the boating fraternity.
“There were two significant hurdles to be overcome when putting the development together,” he says.
