Lauren takes on manual revamp challenge
Lauren Jones learned how Business Improvement Projects quickly lead to bigger things after her induction streamlining BIP grew to include her company’s first point of contact.
After being selected for the YBL program, Lauren made a list of potential business improvement projects for review in a meeting with her supervisor and the business manager.
The winner was a plan to streamline the induction system for new employees to introduce Knight Frank’s culture.
“A well organized system would reinforce their decision to come to work for Knight Frank,” Lauren says. “It is such a big part of commencing employment and an area of weakness we recognized we could work on.”
HR is not Lauren’s area – she’s a Property Accounts officer – but recalling the shortcomings of her own experience of joining the firm provided a good starting point.
Managing the BIP in her own time at work and at home, while meeting her regular job responsibilities, Lauren assessed the current induction system to identify what needed to be improved. She conducted a survey of staff, making it ‘blind’ to encoura...
