Angels in SA: a start, but much to do

South Australia’s innovation ecosystem needs new companies to start and grow for our economy to be vibrant and sustainable. New companies need funding and mentoring to give them the best chance of succeeding.
This is where business angels can play a key role. Business angels are individuals who invest their own financial and intellectual capital in angel capital deals. They generally develop a portfolio of angel capital deals over a number of years.
Angels have a passion for entrepreneurial creation and the journey that follows, are financially secure individuals who get a real buzz from applying their financial and intellectual capital to growing new entrepreneurial companies. Business angels recognize the risks inherent in this form of investing, but look to their experience and networks to reduce that risk.
