GBA Projects develops civil solutions
Founded in 1986 by Director Greg Betros, GBA Projects uses its global experience as a marketing strength.
Based in South Australia, GBA Projects has delivered planning, control and management from inception to completion on projects of global significance including The Olympic Dam Expansion (BHP Billiton), Kallang – Paya Expressway (Singapore), Newcrest Mining Hire Development Project (West Africa), River Trade Terminal (Hong Kong).
“What we’ve seen in the last 25 years is the ability for a project to fail, simply because the integrated project team failed to plan properly,” Greg says.
Greg, a civil engineer, is an industry leader in project planning, management and control. GBA has successfully completed some 600 projects and its senior team includes Matt Betros, David Lynch and Ashleigh Smith.
“We have a turnover of about $1.2m with an expectation of growth for the 2011/12 FY,” Greg says. “We currently have six employees and we expect to grow to at least eight by the first quarter of 2012.
“Currently about 60% of our work is in SA and we expect this to change by the first quarter of 2012 to about 90%.
“GBA does not actively seek ‘export’ work but the interstate / overseas work has developed naturally, by word of mouth.”
Global financial instability does not pose a problem for GBA Projects.
“We have deliberately targeted various industries over the years to ensure GBA remains a viable and profitable company,” Greg says. “We have a number of long-term large clients with projects that will extend into 2013 and beyond and providing we continue to provide a quality service we will continue to get this work.”
Proving its ability to tackle large projects was a key reputation builder.
