Business driver training a lifesaver
South Australia’s Motor Accident Commission says corporate requests for its Business Driver Education Program are increasing as workplaces look to fulfil OHSW obligations to employees.
Funded by MAC and presented by South Australia Police, the BDEP aims to improve road safety by addressing it in the workplace.
Latest research shows road crashes are the most common cause of work-related fatalities, injuries and absences from work, costing the Australian community about $1.5 billion annually.
MAC General Manager Corporate Affairs, Ben Tuffnell says the research also shows injuries associated with work-related road crashes are twice as likely to cause disability and fatality than other occupational accidents.
