SA Food Surges to $9.8 Billion
The annual scorecard issued by SA Government authority, Food South Australia has found that the State’s food industry grew in most of the key performance indicators during 2001-02, although it may not be able to keep up the pace.
A surge in exports and above average growth in domestic revenue lifted gross state food revenue by $1.49 billion (18%) to $9.82 billion, but strong food imports reduced the net gain to 16% or $8.62 billion.
