SAISO wins us 2100 Jobs
In the past financial year, the South Australian Industrial Supplies Office (SAISO) assisted South Australian companies to secure local content and import replacement goods and services worth $120 million.
The Starfish Hill Wind Farm development alone won South Australian industry contracts worth $24 million, with the help of SAISO.
Successfully assisting South Australian business to replace imported equipment, goods and services with local content and promoting competitive South Australian capability has seen SAISO evolve and expand into an effective networking organisation with tangible results and a solid reputation.
Primarily funded by the State Government, SAISO is a business unit of the Centre for Innovation, Business and Manufacturing (CIBM), part of the South Australian Office of Economic Development and offers an invaluable service.
For a company considering expansion, SAISO can provide industry knowledge and information on current and future projects which form the foundation of a prudent and measured strategy that will greatly assist the business to make a considered decision.
According to a formula provided by Australian Economic Consultants, SAISO’s activities have created, or helped to retain, more than 2100 full and part-time jobs in the 2001-02 financial year. And in terms of benefits to the State, SAISO’s documented return on investment last financial year was greater than 120:1.
