Australia's Barley Broker
When the shares of Australia’s largest barley marketer became listed on the Australian Stock Exchange last year, ABB Grain Ltd (ABB) turned a new page in a long and proud history within the national agricultural scene.
On July 22, 2002 ABB’s shares were listed through the ASX Adelaide office where ABB has its headquarters and is one of South Australia’s largest companies with an operating revenue of $906.9 million in 2002.
South Australia, as the largest barley producing State in the nation, is an appropriate home for ABB as the company has a history dating back to 1939 when the Australian Barley Board was established to market Australia’s barley crop.
After 60 years of experience in the grains industry as a statutory body - during which ABB built an enviable reputation around the world as a supplier of quality barley - the Board was privatised in 1999 to form ABB Grain Ltd.
