Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Review
A review of workers’ compensation and occupational health, safety and welfare systems in South Australia is currently taking place.
The review is looking at workers’ compensation issues of income maintenance; compensation for non economic loss; access to compensation; rehabilitation and return to work programs; claims management; dispute resolution; the WorkCover Corporation; the fair treatment of workers’; and provisions with regard to negligent third parties.
Occupational health, safety and welfare issues to be considered include workplace level prevention strategies; state wide prevention strategies; the synergies that exist between the Workers’ Compensation Scheme and occupational health, safety and welfare legislation; enforcement; and a regulatory framework.
